A Fantastic June On The Lower Dess Beat!

The lack of rain has presented our rods with (more than) challenging conditions in the last month or so. It’s amazing what a serious bit of rain can do. Welsh fly scores on the Dee!

A TWO INCH “THE REVEREND MOLE” FLY This fly from the River Usk in Wales, and new even to our ghillie, was used with tremendous effect by our visiting  rod Michael Pearce to catch an 8lb salmon  

Another Fish!

A 7 pounder caught on Saturday evening in the Jock Rae pool with a 3″ Sunray. Plenty more fish have been seen on our Dess beat in the last week which is good news and hopefully indicative of a return to improved catch numbers on the Dee

Update on When Frank Came to Call …… Above is the view from outside Mill Cottage looking up river before and after Hurricane Frank. The good, and almost unbelievable news, is that the Cottage will be ready for our first booking in early February. The Dess flooding reached 2.5ft higher than the previous record breaking levels of 1937, peaking at 18ft!     Fishing Update In spite…
