A PERFECT SCOTTISH RETREAT
Close to Aberdeen & Balmoral
WELCOME TO LOWER DESS ESTATE
The Lower Dess estate lies in Royal Deeside on the north side of the river Dee with uninterrupted views over the valley to the Forest of Birse. The estate enjoys a very private and secluded position in a totally unspoilt rural setting and yet is close to Aberdeen.
The 428 acre estate was purchased in 2011 by Jeremy and Jenny Clayton who, in becoming Scottish landowners, were fulfilling a life-long dream. Influenced by generations of sportsmen, this Hertfordshire couple were delighted to find themselves owners of 2.25 miles of some of the best Spring and Summer Salmon fishing on the Dee with excellent Sea Trout in June and August. The beat has 18 named pools.

Mill of Dess Lodge
A truly luxurious 10 double bedroom, 10 ensuite bathroom Lodge which offers top-end accommodation for their sporting guests.
Immediately adjacent to the river bank, this stone cottage sleeps four people in two twin bedrooms which is equipped for self-catering.
The fishing at Lower Dess is on an exceptionally attractive, secluded left bank stretch of the river Dee which can be fished at low, medium and high water.
The Lodge is supported by our very own Chef, Housekeeper and Gardener. Their professionalism and dedication will cater to all of your needs to ensure you enjoy a relaxing stay at Dess.
I have stayed in many Scottish lodges (and country hotels in Scotland) over the years. Dess has to be the best thought out and most comfortable of them all. A triumph!
